Congratulating Finley - you're our apprentice of the month! Russell Kirby, site manager at Maidstone Phase 4 for Croudace Homes, says that he is a credit to himself, the apprenticeship team at MidKent College, and his employers.

“He works to a high standard, for which we have just been awarded an NHBC Pride in the Job. Finn is polite, always wears his PPE and at such a young age is respected by all the guys on Phase 4. We have given Finn a well-earned NHBC PIJ certificate for his efforts. He really is a credit to the industry, and I look forward to working with him in the future and continue to watch him grow.”

Daniel Young, director at Youngs Building Surveying Services Limited, said: ‘When Finn came to me just over a year ago, he was very shy and unsure of himself, how things have changed! Finn is now a confident man and a very much valued member of the team, showing all the signs of wanting to progress in life as a carpenter, He displays a very good work ethic, and always follows instructions to the letter. His attendance is 100 percent. This young man has all the minerals of becoming a very good asset to our construction industry. I hope that the College also recognises their part in achieving this.’

After his nomination, Finley Reardon told us: ‘I feel grateful that my commitment to the company and my work ethic has been recognised. It has also given me more of a boost of confidence. The company is very organised. It rewards hard work with team activities such as go karting. There is also a Christmas do to show appreciation to the workers. I feel that I am supported by the company and especially Dan as he gives his time to show me new work skills, I really enjoy working with my team which includes three other people as we all get along well.’

Congratulations Finley!
