Christmas closure message

The College is closed and will re-open to students on Monday 6 January 2025. We will respond to your emails and voicemails upon our return. Happy holidays 🎄✨

The sheer volume of stunning student artwork is both a blessing and a testament to the talent we cultivate here, but it also complicates the process.

Each piece tells a story, and narrowing down that selection can feel overwhelming. However, we are delighted to have an abundance of high-quality work that not only reflects the creativity of our students but also elevates our promotional campaigns.

This autumn, we were thrilled to feature Fine Art student Karen Jefferies as part of our open events campaign. Karen graciously allowed us to use one of her captivating photographs, which perfectly encapsulates the vibrant spirit of our community. This collaboration not only highlights her talent but also showcases how our students’ art becomes a vital part of our school's identity.Karen Jefferies 4

To give Karen a deeper understanding of how we transform her artwork into promotional materials, she met with our experienced Graphic Designer, Klaus Hartleben. With over 30 years in the design industry, Klaus is a wealth of knowledge and creativity. During their meeting, he guided Karen through the image selection process, explaining how various factors—such as colour, composition, and emotional impact—play a crucial role in creating compelling promotional materials.

Klaus shared some of the tools and techniques he has honed over his long career, revealing how he balances artistic integrity with marketing needs. He emphasised the importance of selecting images that not only represent the artist's vision but also resonate with the audience we aim to reach. This collaboration allowed Karen to see her work through a different lens, understanding how it fits into the broader narrative of our school’s mission and values.

What stands out most in this process is the genuine excitement we all feel about our students’ work. Each piece submitted for consideration is a reflection of hard work, passion, and a unique perspective. It serves as a reminder of why we are here—to nurture and celebrate creativity.

As we prepare for our autumn open events, we are grateful for students like Karen who inspire us daily. The quality of their work not only enriches our promotional efforts but also enhances our school’s reputation as a hub for artistic excellence. We can’t wait to share Karen’s photograph with our community, knowing it will resonate with prospective students and art lovers alike.

In a world filled with fleeting images, we are proud to have so many vibrant and meaningful pieces to choose from. The challenge of selection is not a burden, but rather a delightful opportunity to showcase the incredible talent within our school. We look forward to more collaborations that celebrate our students and their exceptional art!
