MidKent College is a Further and Higher Education College in Kent, serving the community with training and education services from its campuses in Maidstone and Medway.
Each year approximately 7,500 students aged 16 years and upwards enrol at the College to gain the skills they need to progress in work and life.

This is all possible thanks to the strategic oversight and challenge of our Governing Body – a legal structure responsible for the direction and function of the College, financial health and the quality of service it offers to the community. Our Governing Body comprises individuals with a broad range of backgrounds and experiences who volunteer their time and skills to the benefit of our students and the communities we support.

The Governing Body meets at least five times a year in addition to an annual strategic away-day. There are five committees: Group Risk and Audit, Finance & Resources, Quality, Teaching and Learning, Remuneration and Search and Governance, which meet regularly throughout the year.
With a recent ‘Good’ Ofsted inspection, robust financial health and planning, and the growth of our wholly-owned subsidiary company MKC Training, both the College and our Governing Body are in a strong position.
As Governors commit to a term of office, we anticipate that over the next two years a number of our current Governors will complete their service and stand down. We are therefore actively searching for additional Governors to join our Board.
