Accessing the College wifi network

Students and staff can access the network from your own device using the same College email address and password that you use when logging in to any College PC or device.

Apple Users:

  1. Select Eduroam as a wifi connection on your device
  2. Enter your College email as your username, and your main network password
  3. Your device will remember the network connection, giving you seamless access to the network when you arrive on campus.

Android Users:

  1. Download the 'Eduroam CAT' app from the Google PlayStore
  2. Open the app and select 'Manual Search'
  3. Select MidKent College, and use your College email and password to register
  4. Your device will remember the network connection, giving you seamless access to the network when you arrive on campus.

*** Please Note - If you have already tried connecting to Eduroam before running the app you will need to click 'forget network' before the app will connect you to our Eduroam Wireless ***

For users that are unable to download the eduroamCAT application or would like to setup their connection manually the following instructions will work:

Enable Wi-Fi and select eduroam:

  1. Open Settings
  2. In Wireless & Networks, enable Wi-Fi
  3. Open Wi-Fi, select eduroam

Configuring connection to eduroam:

  1. In EAP method, select PEAP
  2. Add midkent.ac.uk in the domain field (if it is required)
  3. In Phase 2 Authentication, select MSCHAPV2
  4. In Identity, enter This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. (e.g. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)
  5. In Password, enter your normal Midkent password
  6. Click Connect

***Please note: In some versions of Android you may be asked to select your CA certificate.***

• For Android v5/v6, you should set your CA certificate as '(unspecified)'.
• For Android v7 or later, you should set your CA certificate as 'do not validate'.

Windows, Mac & Linux Laptop Users:

  1. Click here to go to the eduroam CAT installer page
  2. Click “Click here to download your eduroam installer”
  3. Search for Midkent College
  4. Download and installer the eduroam installer
  5. Enter your email address and password
  6. If a certificate warning is displayed, please click yes
  7. Your device will remember the network connection, giving you seamless access to the network when you arrive on campus
