• What will I learn?

You’ll gain an accredited qualification, as well as the opportunity to improve your employability and social skills. Some of your learning will take place within the community, providing real-life learning opportunities.

This could include anything from improving your confidence with using public transport, to completing shopping at a supermarket. Once you have the skills, you’ll be able to progress onto another study programme in a subject area of your choice or employment.

      • Why choose a MidKent College Supported & Foundation Education programme?

You’ll receive individualised tailored help from your tutors and support through small class sizes.

You may have the opportunity to enrol onto a supported internship study programme where you will spend the majority of your time in the workplace supported by a job coach. In this instance you will only attend College to improve your English and maths.

      • How is English & maths involved?

The majority of your study programme will be developing your English and maths skills as our programmes are designed at those working at Entry Level to Level 1.

      • What have your past students gone on to do?

Many of our students have progressed onto further study within the College and entered supported employment.

      • What facilities and trips are available?

Previous trips have included to Fort Amherst, exhibitions and local museums. Students have also been involved in a range of community projects supporting local charities. You'll also have the opportunity to develop your interpersonal and communication skills at local amenities including the Loose Valley project, Bluewater, cafes and external teamwork work experience projects.
