I am so proud and privileged to be leading MidKent College. We are here to do everything we can to help you to realise your ambitions and aspirations and to improve your future prospects of employment.
We often tell our students that we are not like school and those lucky enough to come to us find out that in fact we are more like the workplace, trying to always instil the skills and attributes that people need to improve their employment opportunities. There are many who come to study because they want to go on to university, and for those students, we are absolutely committed to their success and ensuring they have skills that will last beyond their university degree.
I began life as an apprentice chef and my time at college was one of the most enjoyable learning experiences I had. This helped me to have the springboard into a career that took me around the globe before coming to work in college. I want to make sure all our students have the same life-changing opportunities.
Equally, though I know we cannot do it without the work we do for and with our local and regional business community who help us with work experience, live briefs, interview techniques and curriculum advice. Importantly though we are there to ensure we provide the highest quality training for businesses to grow further and improve. Our Employer Relations team are focused on tailoring packages that help business growth.
Being principal of MidKent College allows me to meet a wide, and diverse range of people from our communities and my mission is to serve them all by providing excellent teaching & learning and programmes that allow individuals to progress.
Crucially for me I encourage our students to engage with me directly, through our Student Voice, follow me on Twitter, by
I look forward to meeting you,
