Course Description

The VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Studies is a substantial vocational qualification for learners seeking a career as a junior beauty therapist. This qualification is designed for learners aged 16 years or over and will support you to gain employment as a beauty therapist. This is a vocational qualification and includes all the required elements to work effectively as a therapist including, mandatory units covering the following: facial skincare, waxing, eyelash and eyebrow treatments including perming, manicure, pedicure, nail art, client care, display and promote stock and health and safety.

You will learn through theory and practical sessions and you will undertake written and practical exams. Working on external clientele to complete your practical assessments.


Other Important Information

We expect all students to wear a uniform. Our uniform is a tunic and trousers with closed in black shoes. This is a mandatory requirement and tunics can be obtained from a designated supplier. A list of the kit required for your practical lessons will be given on enrolment which can also be sourced from a designated supplier. As a beauty therapy student you cannot wear false lashes or nails whilst on programme.

All MidKent College students will continue studying English and maths until they are 19, or until they have achieved a Grade C/4. Your study programme will incorporate a work placement of up to 200 hours in a role relevant to your study. All students will have access to a Personal Tutor to support their personal and professional development.

  • Level 3 Diploma in Massage Therapy

    It is possible to progress to Level 3 on successful completion of level 2 and all other elements of your study program.

Entry Requirements

Achievement of an appropriate Level 1 qualification or GCSE grades 4/C and above including English or maths at a grade 4/C or above.
