Course Description

For those of you that want to become a fully qualified plumbing and heating engineer, the Level 3 in Plumbing will help you progress onto an NVQ as a stand alone qualification or as part of an apprenticeship.

The following areas that will be covered within this qualification:
o working safely and effectively
o principles of environmental technology systems
o cold water system planning and design
o hot water system planning and design
o domestic central heating systems planning and design

Other Important Information

> You will spend the majority of your studies learning the key theory required, which will be supplemented with some practical tasks in our workshops
> Final assessment is made through an online end test and synoptic assignment. Your progress will also be continuously monitored through assignments, activity reports and phase tests
> This is a study programme which includes Progression and Performance Tutorials (PPTs) and work experience in addition to your main programme.

Future Prospects

Successful completion of the programme will significantly improve your chances of a job in the BSE industry.

Entry Requirements

You'll need to have the Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing Studies at Merit and above, as well as English and Maths minimum grade 4 or equivalent

GCSE Science at grade 4 would be advisable, but is not essential.
