Course Description

An ideal programme if you are considering a career in Policing. The purpose of this qualification is to provide specialist knowledge, skills and understanding relating to working in the police force as well as develop the key skills and qualities needed, such as career aspirations, leadership skills and equality, diversity and inclusion, which can be applied to current or future employment. The content has been developed with employers, subject experts and tutors to ensure that it’s relevant to the real world and meets the need of employers.

The programme is nationally recognised and provides you with the equivalent of 1.5 A-Levels and the opportunity to progress onto the Level 3 Extended Diploma for Entry to the Uniformed Services, which is the equivalent of 3 A-Levels.

This programme attracts UCAS points (Range 24-84).

You will learn about a variety of topics related to careers in policing, including leadership, discipline, physical fitness, conflict management, equality, diversity and inclusion, government and the media and the development of the UK police service.

Other Important Information

Although the majority of study is theory, the course is designed to be as practical as possible and will include a number of visits and guest speakers.

You will be assessed through a variety of assessment methods, all of which are aimed at a more vocational method of study. These include presentations, practical skills demonstrations and written assignments.

You will be required to purchase the College kit through our uniform supplier. You may wish to purchase course textbooks to support your learning.

All students will continue studying English and maths until they are 19, or until they have achieved a grade C/4. Your study programme will incorporate a work placement of up to 37 hours in a role relevant to your study. All students will have access to a Personal Tutor to support their personal and professional development."

Entry Requirements

Five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including English and maths at grade C/4 or above.
