Although the majority of study is theory, the course is designed to be as practical as possible and will include a number of visits and outdoor exercises
You will be assessed through a variety of assessment methods, all of which are aimed at a more vocational method of study. These include presentations, practical skills demonstrations and written assignments.
You will be required to purchase the College kit through our uniform supplier. You may wish to purchase course textbooks to support your learning.
All students will continue studying English and maths until they are 19, or until they have achieved a Grade C/4. Your study programme will incorporate a work placement of up to 37 hours in a role relevant to your study. All students will have access to a Personal Tutor to support their personal and professional development."
Future Prospects
This popular and exciting course supports and produces high level students that have gone on to progress to higher education or to a range of careers in the Uniformed Public Services.
Successful completion of this course can open the door to a career in a variety of public services, including the police, fire service, military, security industry, prison service or as a paramedic. You may also progress to further study at university to study forensic science, public health and protection, or management. MidKent College offers progression through its HND in Public Services.

Five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including English and maths at grade C/4 or above.
