I chose this as I would like to own my own business one day. I know a few friends who are in the construction trade.
I am doing my apprenticeship with a company called Ian Williams. We work on council houses doing repairs and making sure they are decorated.
I find the skills I learn here help with my day-to-day job such as wallpapering, fillers and learning about different kinds of paints. I would recommend an apprenticeship to others to help them as it does help being paid and learning at the same time.
I chose this College as it is local to me and it’s a nice environment. The tutors are friendly and it’s a different environment to school.
My family is supportive of me doing this and help me. Kevin is our tutor here and he is really good to get on with and very supportive.
