She was nominated by Motor Vehicle lecturer David Franklin who said: “Lucy has worked exceptionally hard and assisted other students with work when they are struggling. She has is always first to complete work and asks for additional learning material. She has an excellent level of drive and ability and will do well going forward with the course.”

Lucy works for Right Choice MOT Centre. She said: “Going back to College was a shock to the system for me, as I haven't been in education for a number of years. Being a vehicle technician is something that I have wanted to do for a while, so I am very proud to have been recognised.

“I have fantastic colleagues who never mind helping me out or explaining things to me. I have learnt so much from them already. I thoroughly enjoy every day at work, and always feel encouraged to share my opinions in all areas of the business, suggesting improvements and new procedures - as well as being part of the team helping to solve problems.

I love working at my company. It is a very rewarding job, and as it is a small, family run company, I have learnt about running a business, as well as the technical side of the role. Getting cheaper repairs on my own vehicle definitely has its benefits too!

Right Choice MOT Centre said: “Lucy is a great asset to our small family business. She shows great promise, and we are proud of her for being recognised at College.”

Congratulations Lucy!
