Construction and the Built Environment student Tiarnan has successfully secured a position as an architectural technician at Clague Architects, based in Maidstone and Canterbury, after a thorough selection process.

Tiarnan’s skill in technical drawings was evident in his portfolio, and at his interview he expressed his interest in architecture and design.

“What I’m learning in class will be really useful to me in the job as the company do a wide range of architectural work. The department I’ll be working in is quite specialist as they maintain churches and old buildings.

I’ve wanted to get involved in architecture since primary school as I’ve always really liked drawing and to design a building and then watch it getting built is quite an achievement. In the long term I’d like to train through the firm as an architect.”

Construction & the Built Environment lecturer Charlotte said “Tiarnan arrived at MidKent College this year as a late enrolling student with aspirations of becoming an architect. With his continued commitment to his studies he was the ideal candidate selected for shortlisting for a fantastic opportunity with Clague Architects

This will be the start of a promising career in architecture and I am proud to be a part of his journey in College to realising his dreams.”

We wish you good luck and hope you settle into your new job!
