Level 3 in Business student Keilly Crossland-Evans has been selected for the GB ball hockey team! Experienced roller hockey and ice hockey player Keilly was recommended by her captain for the ball hockey trials in 2018.

Despite never playing ball hockey, Keilly passed all three team trial days with flying colours and will soon be representing Great Britain in the Czech Republic in June!

In addition to her College studies, Keilly attends the ball hockey training centre in Sheffield, as well as training with a local male team to ensure her knowledge and skills are ready for the World Championships.

She says “My team are absolutely incredible. I find hockey a good stress relief, and my mum couldn’t believe I’d made the Great Britain team, she’s been really supportive.

Monday is my day to fully concentrate on my College studies. I spend up to five days a week in training and my tutors are really supportive.”

Keilly is looking to take her Business knowledge further by applying to study International Business at the University of Sheffield. She is hoping to continue to play sport alongside her university studies with a hockey scholarship, and eventually work in financial management!

Business lecturer Yasmin Malik said "Keilly is a bright and determined young lady, not just excelling in her Level 3 Business programme, but also accomplishing one of her dreams to reach the finals of GB trials in ball hockey! The Business department and her peers are all very proud of her achievements!"
