On Wednesday 26 June, MidKent College held its annual Student Awards ceremony to celebrate the achievements of its Maidstone and Medway campus students.
Students were nominated by the tutors that know them best, for one of our hotly contested award categories, including Volunteer of the Year, Outstanding Contribution to Society and Student of the Year.
Finalists and their guests enjoyed a three-course dinner at The Orangery, Turkey Mill, as well as entertainment from the College's Performing Arts and Music students. Former MidKent College student, and now Senior Lecturer at the Surrey Space Centre at the University of Surrey, Dr Chris Bridges, joined us and delivered an inspiring speech to our guests.
Principal and Chief Executive of the College, Simon Cook said, "The passion, commitment and achievements of our students, many of whom work hard in challenging situations to prepare for their future careers or further study, never fail to inspire us.
Our Student Awards ceremony allows us to celebrate those who have really demonstrated their dedication and enthusiasm to staff this year, and it is the perfect event to congratulate them on their efforts. I wish all finalists and winners the very best in their future education, and subsequent careers."
We would like to extend our congratulations to our winners and finalists, and thank those who attended to support them.
