Professor Mohamed Abdel-Maguid has a three-decade career in global higher education, encompassing board-level roles in Higher Education (HE), Further Education (FE), and commercial enterprises. Currently, he serves as Pro Vice-Chancellor at Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU), UK, overseeing global engagement, internationalisation, STEM, and the Faculty of Science, Engineering, and Social Sciences.
Mohamed is an avid promoter of digital skills and STEM integration and champions inclusion, innovation, entrepreneurship, and cross-sector collaboration. Committed to social justice, he strives for broader access to STEM education and careers.
Mohamed is a scholar in the field of Smart Systems where he attracted £15 million of external funding to support research, knowledge exchange and skills development.
His knowledge exchange projects have been recognised with several awards, including the Lord Stafford Award, the UHNS Clinical Innovation Award, the Times Higher Education Award for Knowledge Exchange Initiative of the Year, and the Innovate UK KTP Best of the Best Award for Societal Impact reflecting his dedication to societal advancement.
