I started my career in further education as a learning support assistant at Uxbridge College in 2009. This role exposed me to a wide range of experience & knowledge of supporting students with complex needs including autistic spectrum conditions and a multitude of associated difficulties, which has become the foundation to the work that I do now.

Since gaining this initial experience, I have completed my teacher training and maintained my passion for ensuring that all students including those with high needs have access to the best quality education, intervention, and support to secure their success and develop their independence. Throughout my career I have undertaken roles where I can make a personal impact on students, either through my own delivery of outstanding lessons or through strategically managing initiatives across the teams that I have led. I have undertaken a range of leadership positions within both the specialist and further education sector. Prior to joining MidKent College I was most recently the group director for student support at Activate Learning, where I led an Outstanding graded high needs provision for over 730 students, leading a team of over 500 staff.

Here at MidKent College I am responsible for student experience, ensuring that all students are supported effectively to be successful on their chosen curriculum pathway, that they have a voice in the strategic running of the college and influence the quality of the provision. I oversee the student support teams, careers guidance and admissions processes.
