Students who are not eligible to claim free tuition under Level 1 or Level 2 Entitlement (see Level 1 and Level 2 Entitlement funding categories), may be eligible for free tuition if they meet any of the following criteria:
- Employed/self-employed with an annual gross salary below £25,000. *
- In receipt of Universal Credit (UC), or other means tested state benefits with a take home pay (disregarding UC payments and other benefits) less than £892* a month (learner is sole adult in their benefit claim) or £1437* a month (learner has a joint benefit claim with their partner).
- Unemployed, not receiving any benefits, but want to be employed, and the learning is directly relevant to your employment prospects and the local labour market needs.
To claim one of these concessions you will need to declare your status and upload proof of your earnings and/or benefits during the enrolment process. The proof must be dated no more than three months prior to your course start date, and could be 3 months wage slips, an employment contract, or 3 months universal credit statements.
