Course Description

Overview.

Our Level 2 Beauty programme is a perfect introduction to one of the fastest-growing sectors in the South East. You'll develop an understanding of underpinning beauty theory and apply them as you build a fantastic set of practical skills that will prepare you for your career. You will train in modern, fully-equipped beauty salons, using the same equipment and tools you can expect to use in the workplace.

What is covered.

You will study a range of units, with topics including: Health and Safety, Consultation techniques and client care, manicure, pedicure, waxing, facial, skin analysis, eyebrow shaping, eyelash and brow tinting and make up application techniques. You will also learn Anatomy and physiology for beauty therapy.

Assessment method.

You will be assessed on your practical skills throughout the year completing formative assessments and a final graded assessment for each unit. Once all units completed you will then take part in a final synoptic practical exam. You will also have 2 online exams.

Other Important Information

You will need to purchase College uniform and kit which you can purchase through the college suppliers. You will also need to purchase closed toe black loafers.

All MidKent College students will continue studying English and maths until they are 19, or until they have achieved a Grade C/4. Your study programme will incorporate a Work Placement of up to 350 hours in a role relevant to your study. All students will have access to a Personal Tutor to support their personal and professional development.

Future Prospects

You could progress onto the Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy to further your learning. After which you can move into higher education or an advanced apprenticeship in your relevant industry choice.

Entry Requirements

Four GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including English or maths at grade 4/C or above.
