Course Description:
The esports industry is a rapidly growing and developing industry, being projected to contribute over £180 million to the economy in 2024 and rapidly gaining mainstream appeal. This nexus of a variety of fields, such as event production, broadcasting and online content creation, provides a verdant job market that is growing year on year.

At MidKent College, we are proud to be one of the few centres in the country providing this bespoke qualification, helping students gain the skills and experience for an exciting career in the esports industry and helping students stand out when applying for jobs in this high-growth sector.

Our BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Esports is a 2-year programme aimed at providing the best possible skills and knowledge for the demands of the industry. The programme is entirely assessed on coursework with no internal examinations.

By studying Esports at MidKent College, students will gain a variety of transferable skills and industry-leading knowledge in tools that will allow them to excel in various roles within the industry, such as:

Year 2:
-Esports events
-Video production
-Games design
-Shoutcasting
-Esports coaching
-Ethical and current issues in Esports
-Customer immersion experiences

Our Esports programme also offers extra-curricular opportunities such as Resilience Esports, our in-house esports team and partner competing in competitions such as the British Esports Student Champs and Williams Student Racing League.

Future Prospects

In addition to roles within the Esports industry, you will develop the skills to work in other industries such as marketing, sales, public relations, branding, event management, media, design and business development roles.

There are also opportunities to study Esports further at Esports dedicated universities, or a variety of other disciplines for this exciting and growing industry.

Entry Requirements

Five GCSEs at grade 4/C and above including English and maths at grade 4/C and above.
