Course Description

This course will provide you with the basic skills required for a career in the health and social care sectors.

Units studied may include the routines of a young child, information about contraception, rights and responsibilities and more.

We will also help you develop personal presentation, communication and social skills, as well as independent learning and living skills.

> You will learn through a range of activities including practical and theory lessons, case studies and group work
> Your progress will be monitored throughout the course and you will also be required to build a portfolio of work for assessment
> You will also be required to undertake work experience
> This is a study programme which includes English, maths and work experience in addition to your main programme

Future Prospects

The aim of this course is to enable all students to progress to level 2, subject to entry criteria. It is also the ideal first step for students with dreams of one day becoming a midwife, nurse, social worker or one of a number of other exciting professions.

Entry Requirements

A minimum of four GCSEs at grade 2/F or above, including English or maths.
