Course Description

This course will help you learn more about what it means to work in the varied health and social care sector, including residential care and care of the elderly or disabled.

You will focus on gaining the skills and knowledge required in practice, including communication and individual needs in health and social care.

You will also be required to carry out work experience in a relevant setting.

> You will learn through a range of activities including practical and theory lessons, case studies and group work
> You will be assessed through written and practical assignments, work experience and a portfolio of evidence
> Vocational work experience is mandatory and minimum criteria must be achieved in order to succeed
> This is a study programme which includes English, maths and work experience in addition to your main programme

Future Prospects

Successful completion of this course could lead to further study at level 3. You could also progress straight into employment at a junior level or onto an apprenticeship.

Entry Requirements

Four GCSEs at grade D/3 or above, including English or maths at grade D/3 or above.
