Course Description

Our Level 3 Health and Social Care programme is a perfect introduction for those seeking a career in the sector. You will develop an understanding of health and social care and apply this knowledge when undertaking work experience. You will build a great set of practical skills in our fully equipped classrooms, which mirror clinical and care environments.

You will study a range units with topics including: Anatomy and Physiology, Infection Control, Psychology, Sociological Perspectives, Care Values and Dementia Care, to name. You will also undertake a work placement in a clinical or care setting where you will develop your practical skills.

You will complete written work throughout the year. You will also sit externally set exams.

On successful completion of the programme you will gain a BTEC L3 Foundation Diploma in Health and Social Care.

All students wear a uniform available to order through our uniform partners. You might also wish to purchase the text books associated with the programme.

Other Important Information

All MidKent College students will continue studying English and maths until they are 19, or until they have achieved a Grade C/4. Your study programme will incorporate a Work Placement of up to 350 hours in a role relevant to your study. All students will have access to a Personal Tutor to support their personal and professional development.

Future Prospects

You can progress onto the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care. After completion of this qualification you can move into Higher Education or a Higher Level Apprenticeship

Entry Requirements

Four GCSEs at grade 4 or above including maths and English
