Course Description

Overview.

Our Level 2 Motor Vehicle Programme is a perfect introduction into one of the largest industries in the country. You will have the opportunity to train in our industry standard workshops and build your skills to prepare for an apprenticeship.

What is covered.

You will study all aspects of light vehicle maintenance to get you ready for the work place. All areas are covered in depth and include some basic diagnostic techniques. Areas include, chassis systems, electrical systems, drive trains and engines.

Assessment method.

You will complete an online e-Portfolio and practical tasks throughout the year. There are 3 online examinations and you must complete work experience as part of the course.

Other Important Information

You will need to purchase the PPE pack which includes overalls, polo shirts and work trousers. You will also need steel toe cap footwear.

All MidKent College students will continue studying English and maths until they are 19, or until they have achieved a Grade C/4. Your study programme will incorporate a Work Placement of up to 350 hours in a role relevant to your study. All students will have access to a Personal Tutor to support their personal and professional development.

Future Prospects

On completion of the course, you could move onto an apprenticeship.

Entry Requirements

Four GCSEs at grade D/3 or above, including English or maths at grade D/3 or above.
