I studied Level 3 Travel & Tourism and Air Cabin Crew.

We’re currently learning about aircraft safety, different commands, what we’d have to say in emergencies, drills that we’d have to do for an evacuation, memorising briefs for safety and working with passengers on board as well.

My favourite part of the course was going to the British Airways headquarters. I’ve always wanted to work for BA and seeing it in person was surreal.

I chose MidKent College as I knew that sixth form wasn’t for me. I didn’t enjoy the academic side of school so I did level 3 Travel & Tourism which gave me a lot more knowledge about the travel industry.

We've had quite a lot of quest speakers including people from EasyJet, Virgin, TUI and British Airways over the years. We found out about the different types of working patterns we could be doing like seasonal work/full time, and we learnt how TUI works. BA employees described the whole process from start to finish through training and also how their application process works. They also went through interview prep which I found really helpful.

My tutor Lisa has helped me to prepare for the industry. She was so helpful from the start and helped me apply to BA, assisted me with my CV, and gave me interview questions to practice, I couldn’t have asked for someone more helpful to guide me through this course. Her help worked as I secured a job at British Airways!

I would say Travel & Tourism Level 3 was a lot of hard work. It was more theory-based and not as practical/hands-on but I learned a lot about the industry and aviation, I would definitely recommend the course.

Before starting the course I wish I’d known how much work it was going to be and how many units we would have to do but I still really enjoyed it nonetheless.
