I chose College because I thought it had more options to choose from and my school didn’t offer motor mechanics. I knew I wanted to start working in a trade and I picked motor vehicle. I applied online and found it quite easy to enrol. So far on the course we’ve covered steering, suspension, brakes, things that what you would need done at a garage.
What I enjoy most is the practical work on the vehicles. Getting to learn more about each part and getting that hands-on experience.
At College you get treated like adults and it feels like a better working environment overall. It’s good to build a relationship with your tutor when you start. The facilities are great and so is the campus building.
My next step is that I will be doing another year at College full time. My advice to anyone in year 10 or 11 who is thinking about College is give it a try! Look at other courses too, not just one.
