I chose Multi-Trades as I didn’t really know what trade I wanted to do at the time, so I thought I’d get a taste of everything. During this programme, I realised that Carpentry was my favourite of all of them.

I’ve learnt a lot on my Carpentry programme so far including how to use the tools properly, being accurate with all of the cuts and how to use a tape measure. Maths is involved, but it’s not hard maths; you have to be precise.

Someone visited the College from Redrow and I talked to them to find out more. I applied and had to go to Ebbsfleet for my interview. They gave me a call last week and offered an apprenticeship to me. It was my first-ever interview and although I was nervous, it wasn’t the massive thing I expected it to be.

I’m not sure what I want to specialise it yet, whether that’s first or second fix, and I think I’ll find this out more on my apprenticeship.

I chose MidKent College because my brother went here and it was the closest one to me. Bob helps you when you need it and he’ll teach you everything you need to know.

I went to New Line Learning, and I didn’t really go back to school after Covid. I then came here and realised it suited me better. Sixth form is too formal for me; I’m much more of a practical person.
