I’m studying Level 2 Travel & Tourism. I’m currently learning about business travel which has been really interesting.
My favourite part of the course topic-wise has been ‘World Wide Destinations’.
Our tutors would give us certain places for us to learn about and we’d have to do a presentation that was then recorded in front of everyone in the class. It was amazing to learn more things about places.
I chose MidKent as I had recommendations from friends and I believe it’s the best place for me. I didn’t want to go sixth form, so I saw MidKent as the way to go and it’s opened more doors for me.
I’ve had 56 hours of work experience at College and from that work experience I’ve now got a job. I worked as a runner in a restaurant which gave me more customer skills which is one of the topics that we learnt on the course.
We’ve had lots of guest speakers including people from airlines like Virgin Atlantic and BA. I’ve learned loads from them and they’ve been helpful in gaining more of an insight into the industry.
My tutors have helped me to gain an insight into the industry by focusing on our future by setting us up with apprenticeships/getting us into work, they really do help with your future and getting you into contact with people and talking to them.
After my course, I plan to join the army to work with tanks. The course has been helpful in learning about war zones and understanding the circumstances in those areas.
I would absolutely recommend the course to other people, there’s so many jobs in travel & tourism I feel like it’s an appealing course for so many people.
