I knew the T Level was more practically based and I’m quite good at learning through actually doing things rather than just sitting and writing in the classroom so I thought the T Level would be best for me.

When I saw that they were offering the T Level Health at MidKent College I thought that was the perfect opportunity for me because I knew I wanted to go into a job in healthcare in the future. You have to do a placement as part of the programme and I did mine at Medway Hospital.  I worked with other care support workers and nurses on the wards. The main duties were care tasks like washing patients, feeding patients and making sure their daily care needs were met. We also got to use equipment like the bladder scanner, blood pressure machines etc.

Doing the course really confirmed what I wanted to do as a job. I thought I might want to go into Paramedic Science but after doing my placement I realised I actually want to go into Nursing – I loved seeing how the nurses interacted with the patients and that really inspired me and I am now going onto the Adult Nursing degree at Greenwich University in September.

The tutors here were amazing and I really appreciate everything they did for me.
