I think coming to College encourages you to choose what you want to do in your future and it gives you a variety of choice to do with what you want to do. It also builds up your confidence coming to new places and doing different things.

School is different to College as you’re choosing something that you want to do. The tutors are understanding and you can focus on the subject that you want to do, so you enjoy and like it more.

I am resitting my English and maths, and it’s going well. I am getting 1:1 support with my English, but I’m brilliant at maths, I really enjoy it.

So far we’ve done a holiday to Jamaica for 14 nights for a family. It was challenging starting a big unit, but I really enjoyed it and it got easier over time. The next unit we did was customer service.

Our work experience placement was 36 hours as part of our programme, which they helped us to find in the travel industry.

All of our tutors are supportive, caring and they help you no matter what. If I have any issues or am struggling, they’ll definitely help me. The facilities, such as the cabin, are amazing. Not every day you have a cabin in the classroom!

I’m hoping to be cabin crew or a TUI rep. I’m leaning more towards being a TUI rep at the moment as that’s more relevant to my personality. I would still consider being crew, but you do need a grade 4 in English.

I knew about the College before joining it and then I saw about Travel & Tourism and I liked Geography. I came for the open event to find out more about what it was all about, and I enjoyed it. You only live once so go for it!

It’s easy to travel from Strood to Maidstone on the train.

Go with what your gut thinks, whether that’s College or sixth form. Pick something you enjoy, not just what your friends are doing.
