I chose the Business programme as I have always enjoyed business, and being able to break it down in different sections of a business has allowed me to understand the operations of different departments and to find out, develop and learn what department I wish to pursue a career in.
I chose MidKent College due to the diverse culture which the college presents and the family-like community throughout the College. It makes the College feel more of a home. Due to the support of tutors and other members of staff, this has enabled me to develop myself and gain an optimal opportunity for my future career and education path.
I also chose MidKent College as I am treated more like an adult in comparison to school. With MidKent College with being local to me and having family members present, it made it the perfect place for me to go.
Throughout my studies I have learnt a range of knowledge of the world of business and also gained a different range of real-life, personal and team-working skills. This was done through working with other students and members of staff around the College.
I think that the most enjoyable part about MidKent College most definitely has to be hosting my own charity event within the College to raise money for Cancer Research UK. This charity not only holds a special place in my heart, but the way the College and my tutors supported me raise this event provided a community environment.
The way I had to operate and be the leader for the class made me gain valuable knowledge on the real view of the operations of an event. This management and putting a challenge to test my skills made it an enjoyable part of the College so far.
My tutors are preparing me for my next steps by offering me support methods and professional opinions on ways to structure myself to be the best candidate possible for employment. They also send us links on apprenticeships opportunities and even UCAS applications, which help us stand-out to employers.
My tutors give us regular feedback on our work and allow us to understand how to improve and be the best possible. They praise us for hard and good-quality work we provide and it makes us feel powerful and inspired to reach/pursue our dreams.
My first plan for the future is to work as a data analyst or an accountant, working towards a CIMA degree or a data analyst degree. This Business diploma qualification is my first step to getting a job within a banking or accountancy firm. In future, I wish to operate and run my own business. This qualification will help me achieve this as I would understand the different aspects to it.
I would recommend MidKent College because they treat you as a part of a family and college and help you achieve and accomplish your goals to pursue your future career in a supportive manner.
