I chose to study Sport because my life has been filled with it from doing track and football which made me want to learn more about the industry and the other aspects of it. So far, I have covered psychology and anatomy. I had to study those units for an exam that I took at the beginning of the year.
I moved to Kent from North London and I saw that MidKent College was around 30 minutes from where I live so it was an obvious choice. I attended an open event, but I’d already made my decision at that point.
I have enjoyed learning about anatomy because learning about the body is essential and I enjoy learning about how we function and how we coordinate.
The tutors care about me, and want to the best for me so I've learned to respect and appreciate that. The facilities are fine as everything is easy to access making things stress free.
College is different from school as we spend less time here and have more freedom compared to being in school. I've also seen that people treat me more like an adult and treat me with respect.
I have done some work experience during my programme - for example taking part in football sessions in London being an assistant coach with younger football players, and I have helped out in sporting events like the mini youth games in Medway Park.
Once I’ve completed my programme, I'm looking to go to university or just go straight into employment. My tutors in College have given me job recommendations and advice on how to go into university so I would say that College is preparing me just fine.
