I’m currently studying biology, chemistry and business. I had a couple of friends who came to MidKent and I came to an open day which helped me decide. I want to go onto university and I need these A levels to do that.

I want to do Optometry – I’ve applied to university and just have to get the grades now.

College is more relaxed but also very supportive, the tutors want you to be the best that you can be. We can go to the library or the study area to revise as it’s a quiet area – anyone who’s in that room is there to study and having other people there studying helps you be motivated.

For my business A level we’re planning on going to London for a seminar to be taught extra modules with business. After I visited the universities, the tutors were helpful in following up with me.

The tutors here helped me get work experience with Specsavers so that helped with my work experience for my job but it also helped me to secure a job working at Specsavers which looks good on my CV. I work part-time as an optical assistant looking at people’s eyes and fixing glasses.

I got support with my UCAS application before I sent it off. The tutors proof read it and answer any questions.

For anyone in year 11 considering College for their next steps I would say it’s definitely a good option especially for a more relaxed environment than school, you’re more independent.
