We’re currently learning about mixing, we’re using an app called Logic which allows us to mix different audios that we’ve recorded in the live room. We set up and then we’re allowed to record whatever we want basically and then edit it.
At the moment we’ve recorded a band from the other day and editing any talking, etc.
My favourite part about the course is that we all work together, no one ever gets left out. If someone needs help we’re always there for each other.
I chose MidKent as I already knew about the College from my siblings that came here. I didn’t feel too nervous when I started as I already knew that they had come here.
We’re given opportunities to work in the GlassBox theatre to help with the performing arts performances.
My tutors have 100% prepared me for a career in the industry – all the staff have always pushed us to the next level. Even if we feel we can’t do something they help us to achieve so that we can push to the next grade – they give us ideas on what we can do.
I would recommend this course to other students – I would say you need to have a lot of patience and enjoy music!
Before starting the course I wish I’d known what the course was going to be about – when I heard music production I didn’t think of using apps like Logic but I’m very glad that it is part of the course.
