Alec Burgess completed his Level 3 in Construction and the Built Environment at the College, before progressing onto our Level 4 HNC in Construction Site Supervision. Find out more from Alec and his manager below.
Alec said “By combining College-based study with on-site experience is a really good combination. I can use the theory practically by applying it to the day-to-day work on-site. I’m gaining industry experience which will help me to be successful in my HNC. I’m keen to make my career in construction and would like to by a site project manager.”
His employer since 2019, Chartway Construction, provide additional training as part of his personal development, and he is currently working on a large mixed tenure development in Bapchild, Sittingbourne.
Nick Brasier, Construction Director at Chartway Construction, says “We are very proud of Alec’s achievements and his commitment to increasing his knowledge and drive to success. We will support his on-going career development and look forward to seeing his career develop with Chartway Construction.”
Training Officer Mike Rolfe said “Alec joined the Level 4 Construction Site Supervisor apprenticeship in September 202. He has proved himself in that time to be focussed and committed, capable of grasping a topic quickly and then producing clear and detailed assignments. In a very short time Alec has become a valued and respected member of the group, always eager to engage and ready to support his colleagues when he can.”
