Mohit Basson is currently studying his Level 2 Apprenticeship in Site Carpentry and has been awarded as our Apprentice of the Month – Congratulations!
We also caught up with his employer to see how he felt about Mohit’s award:
I feel Mohit certainly deserves recognition and to be considered for apprentice of the month. Mohit is a fantastic apprentice and always strives to be the best that he can be, his work ethic, attendance, attitude, and presentation are exemplary. We have been providing a large variety of mock training scenarios for Mohit and other apprentices, and Mohit is always actively involved, so driven and keen to learn more. He is very polite, and hardworking and an absolute joy to have as part of our team.
Hear how Mohit feels about this fantastic achievement:
I was very pleasantly surprised at being recognised as an apprentice of the month. I’m very grateful to my training officer for considering me for this achievement. I’m very honoured to be selected for this and would like to thank my mentors, colleagues, and tutors, who have played a massive part in getting me to this point, and for their continued support and guidance which is invaluable to me.
Working for Ian Williams Ltd is great because you’re given the opportunity to practice your craft and test your knowledge and skills when being taught new things by experienced craftsmen. They don’t shy away from letting you get stuck in, they understand that to develop your skills and knowledge, you need to practice them and they are always there for help, advice, and guidance whenever you need it. You’re given responsibility which encourages you to develop the behaviours required for succeeding in this industry and also build professional relationships with the people that you work with, all the while gaining valuable experience in a real working environment.
The best part about working for Ian Williams Ltd is that I’m surrounded by great mentors who encourage me and push me to succeed, as well as working alongside skilled craftsmen who have been a fountain of knowledge. The opportunities that Ian Williams Ltd has already provided for me have all been beneficial in helping me to improve my skills and knowledge of the industry, as well as what it takes to become a great tradesperson. I feel lucky to be working for a company that is truly focused on my personal development at this early stage in my career, but no doubt also in the future, I couldn’t ask for more.
Keep up the good work Mohit.
