His supervisor, Andy McGuiness, said: “Bradley has worked very hard and diligently in the workshop and on-site and is a pleasure to work with. He is happy to have a go at any job put to him and is not afraid to ask questions and can work both as a team player and independently.

Bradley demonstrates forward thinking and is a great team player who conducts himself professionally when on-site and in the workshop. We have been very impressed with how mature his attitude and conduct have been. Being able to work independently without having to be supervised always is a credit to his training at College.”

Mark Slight, an apprentice trainer, said well done to Bradley: “He has been consistently above the standard for an apprentice in both attitude and ability. He always attends college on time and is very proactive. He supports other apprentices here at college, giving advice and guidance in techniques and processes in welding. He likes to be stretched with new techniques and listens to the advice given to him.

In the workplace he is very proactive when I see him on visits, his job write-ups are probably the best I’ve seen from an apprentice at this level with very detailed accounts and this is now the benchmark set for all other apprentices. Knowledge questions are very detailed as well and this shows how much commitment he has towards his apprenticeship, with a desire to achieve and get the most out of it.

He has put a lot of time and effort into achieving his own personal goals and it has been a pleasure to see him advance in his skills and knowledge. He passed his first exam in Manual Welding with a grade of 80%+”.

Bradley said he was pleasantly surprised for being recognised as the apprentice of the month. “I am very grateful to both my assessor and workplace for giving me the opportunity to learn and grow in my choice of work and for giving me the skills and confidence to become recognised for apprentice of the month. I've learned a lot in the workshop - not just how to fabricate and weld but overcome issues on site and sometimes liaise with other tradesmen to tackle a job. Due to being a small company, we are a close-knit group and all the guys have been nothing but helpful and give me advice whenever they can”.
