Former MidKent College Business lecturer, and now business owner, Yasmin Malik launched her own fashion brand “Mochee” Kent in 2019 in partnership with her husband Cash. Could you share industry tips to our students? Contact us today!
They recently joined our Business students via Zoom to share more about setting up their own business, their designs and inspiration. With a flagship store in London, Yasmin provided our students with a brief to aid the launch of the women’s line “Avya London”, and to create a digital marketing campaign for the business. Students were also able to tour their store virtually, and ask questions to find out more about their career journeys and the challenges of COVID.
Yasmin said “It has been a pleasure working with the lovely MidKent College Business students again! We’re looking forward to hearing their bright ideas to help to launch our ladies suit brand in partnership with Mochee Kent. We hope that by sharing our journey on how we started Mochee, the challenges and successes, will inspire some future entrepreneurs!”
Our students enjoyed being able to interact with the entrepreneurs, including finding out more about running a business as well as gaining information to aid them on their assignments.
Curriculum Manager Camilla Maurice said “It was a great opportunity for our students to hear from a local start-up business who have had a huge success in growing their business in London.
Students will be able to work directly with the entrepreneur in developing a digital marketing campaign for the launch of a new women’s fashion line. I am excited to see how this student-led campaign will unfold.”
Thank you to Yasmin and Cash for inspiring our students to consider the different pathways available to them.
