Congratulations to Level 3 Graphic Design student Harry Constable who was awarded the bronze medal in Graphic Design at the WorldSkills UK Competition finals last week

With the results being announced live on Channel 4's Packed Lunch show! Harry, who is in his second year of study at the College, attends our Medway Campus in Gillingham.

Over 500 students from around the UK competed in national finals showcasing their skills across a huge range of disciplines – sixty in fact!

You can read more about the competition here.

Harry was joined at the finals, which were held at Middlesborough College on 25 November, by his tutor Babs Jossi and Head of Department for Creative Industries, David Wood, who said:

"World Skills is a great opportunity for Graphic Design students to not only use the challenge of this competition alongside their studies but also get real-world experience of what their like-minded peers are doing nationwide. This gives them a unique perspective that they would otherwise not get, and as such gives them a little more confidence on what skills they need to develop, what trends the industry is looking at and of course the standards they need to obtain.”

Babs added, "We are extremely proud of Harry! He worked so very hard and produced some amazing work, under very trying conditions. It was a great experience for him and he pushed not only his graphic design abilities but also his interpersonal and employability skills to the max and learned a great deal from the whole event. Over the last eight years, the graphic design students have collected a range of gold, silver, and bronze medals - which is pretty impressive!"

Well done Harry!
