On Wednesday 27 June MidKent College held its annual Student Awards ceremony to honour the achievements of students from both its Maidstone and Medway campuses. The event was held at the Mercure Great Danes Hotel in Maidstone, where finalists in 13 hotly-contested award categories enjoyed a three course dinner, superb entertainment from the College's Performing Arts and Music students, and the drama of an Oscar-style awards ceremony.
Staff at the College have been nominating their students since the early part of the year, and a specially selected panel of judges were tasked with narrowing the nominations down to three finalists and an overall winner for each of the categories.
Principal and Chief Executive Simon Cook highlighted the passion, pride and purpose that the College has for its students. He said "I am continuously impressed at the achievements of our students, who work so hard to prepare for their future careers. Our Student Awards ceremony gives us a wonderful opportunitiy to celebrate those who have stood out to our staff throughout the year in the presence of their family and friends. It is the perfect event for us to recognise their skills, effort and achievement. This event remains a highlight of our academic calendar and I wish all nominees and winners the very best continued luck in their education and subsequent careers."
We would like to extend our congratulations to all of our winners and finalists, and wish them all the best for the future.
