Every year our staff and students complete fundraising activities and challenges that benefit charities, but this year we’re trying uniting our efforts to back one chosen charity partner.
After much deliberation about a number of very worthy charities, we’re delighted to announce that our Charity of the Year for 2020 is Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex (AAKSS).
The scale of the work that AAKSS completes is enormous, attending over 2,500 incidents each year to provide essential life-saving medical support, stabilise patients and transport them to appropriate hospital care.
Over the last 30 years the impact of the charity’s work on individuals, families and communities touched by the 30,000 incidents they have attended is huge. So many of our staff and students know, or know of, someone who has benefited from the superb care and support of their staff and volunteers,
But keeping helicopters maintained and mission-ready, and two crews on shift for 18 hours each day to stay responsive isn’t cheap. As an independent charity AAKSS relies on donations to keep the service running, and we’re pleased to be doing our part to help support an organisation that does so much to help people in need of critical care.
We be organising fundraising events through the year, and we’ll be pleased to welcome the AAKSS team to College events to speak to staff, students and visitors about the important and vital work that they do.
