Josh Noonan is currently studying for a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship and is employed by Maidstone Borough Council.
Congratulating him, Catherine Harrison, MidKent Learning & Development Manager, Maidstone Borough Council, said: “Josh makes a fantastic contribution to our Apprentice programme. He is a committed and dedicated apprentice and works hard both on his placements and at college. He provides great support to our other apprentices too. He recently returned to his old school to give a presentation on the apprenticeship programme, a fantastic achievement for Josh and demonstrating his developing confidence.”
Julie Atkinson, Apprentice Trainer, said: “Joshua has been diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), which presents unique challenges in both his academic and workplace environments. Despite these obstacles, he has developed effective strategies that allow him to excel in both areas. As Joshua's tutor, I have observed his significant growth in the classroom, where he actively engages with his peers in discussions and demonstrates a willingness to ask and answer questions to enhance his understanding of the world around him. Since beginning his apprenticeship, he has shown remarkable growth in confidence, and his determination and tenacity are truly commendable.”
Josh said: “I have enjoyed the apprenticeship. The mixture of working and studying suits me. The apprenticeship also has improved my social skills and given me greater independence. I find the amount of people and everything going on in the workplace and college overwhelming at times, but I have great support from my apprentice colleagues at Maidstone Borough Council, who attend college with me, my apprenticeship line manager and my college tutor. For anyone considering going down the apprenticeship route, I would recommend it!”
Congratulations Josh.
