Katie Trigwell is currently studying a Level 3 Assistant Accountant apprenticeship and is employed by Henry Schein UK Holdings, Gillingham.
Congratulating Katie, Beth Collier, Financial Accountant at Henry Schein UK Holdings, said: 'Since transitioning into our finance team, Katie is always willing to take on new responsibilities and widen her knowledge about the business as she discovers different accounting skills. Something that stands out to me is how Katie expresses an interest in understanding the bigger picture from the tasks she is asked to do. I am confident that the more she gains from her course at college, the more she will develop her skills and be able to complete tasks independently.’
Helen Mitchell, MidKent College lecturer in Finance said: ‘Katie studied her Level 2 course as a remote evening with us and did really well on that. She has now progressed to Level 3 and attending the day class where she is a valued member of the group. She has built up a good rapport with all the other students who are a mix of apprentices and non-apprentices and is always willing to help others around her. She moves away from the computer and works on activities in a group so that they can bounce ideas off each other and this works well for her. She strives to be the best she can be and is a pleasure to teach.’
Katie said: ‘Being an apprentice has given me the opportunity to concentrate on learning new accounting skills and be able to gain experience in my job. My work has given me the opportunity to take on more responsibilities and guidance to learn more about the company to understand why and how we meet the requirements of the business. This will map the future of my career, as I am learning a wide range of accounting skills, and getting exposure to different areas of the business - for example, management accounting, financial accounting, and tax processes.’
Congratulations Katie.
