15 aspiring young coaches have been given a unique opportunity to take part in a special coaching workshop organised by Sportscoach UK, who are working in partnership with Kent Sport.

All of these learners have been chosen due to high achievement, and are striving towards their goals. The learners have been working with students who could be visually impaired, deaf or have minor learning difficulties.

The learners will undertake three workshops during their placement and these will include First Aid, Safeguarding and Inclusivity. The coaches will have a unique opportunity to volunteer at the Kent School Games at Medway Park Sports and Leisure Centre in June this year.

Teaching & Learning Manager Mark Lampard, said “This is a fantastic opportunity, and it is great to reward those learners working hard to succeed. Inclusivity training ensures learners consider how to adapt sports using different rules, equipment, and coaching techniques to suit the needs of the performers they are coaching”.
